Eduardo Portal, conductor

Debut with OBC

11th, April 2018

Last weekend Eduardo conducted his debut performances with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra at the Auditori of the catalan city.

The concerts were reviewed as follows:

"[In Respighi's Fontane di Roma] Portal was magnificent with the colours achieved, describing the different times of the day through the piece -from dawn to sunset-, being extremely delicate in the lyricism and combining melodies in order to express the wonderful dynamic range written in the score." Lluís Trullén

The two concerts were included in the cycle of new soloists called "Emergentes". Each concert featured two different soloist with different repertoire. On Saturday Ona Cardona performed Mozart clarinet concerto, and Josep Ramón Olivé Mahler's Rückert Lieder. On Sunday Sheku Kanneh-Mason (last BBC Young Musician of the Year) performed Shostakovich first cello concerto and Remi Geniet Prokofiev fist piano concerto. Both events were concluded with Respighi Fontane di Roma.

The performance on Sunday was broadcasted live on Catalunya Radio and can be listened online following this link.
